Swimmers Code of Conduct
As a member of the Sac Town Tsunami Aquatic Teams, I pledge to uphold the following Code of Conduct to support my teammates, coaches, and the overall integrity of the sport:
- I will display good sportsmanship by maintaining a positive attitude and showing respect to all swimmers, coaches, and officials at every practice, meet, and team event.
- I will refrain from yelling at, insulting, or demeaning my teammates, competitors, coaches, fans, or officials.
- I will prioritize sportsmanship and teamwork over personal victories.
- I will actively contribute to a safe and healthy training environment.
- I will support and respect my coaches and officials, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone.
- I will attend practices and meets as part of my commitment to my team and coaching staff.
- I will uphold a sports environment free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and will refrain from their use.
- I will use respectful language and behavior at all times and will refrain from profanity and inappropriate gestures.
- I will refrain from inappropriate or disruptive behavior at any team event.
- I will do my best to make my swimming experience enjoyable and rewarding.
- I will treat all swimmers, coaches, fans, parents, and officials with respect, regardless of race, gender, creed, or ability.
I understand that failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in being asked to leave a practice or meet by team officials. Repeated violations or serious infractions may result in dismissal from the team without reimbursement. I acknowledge that this Code of Conduct may not cover all prohibited behaviors, and team officials reserve the right to address any conduct that does not align with accepted standards of behavior.
Guardian Code of Conduct
As a parent or guardian of a swimmer on the team, I pledge to support my child and the team by adhering to the following Code of Conduct:
- I will promote good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all swimmers, coaches, and officials at practices, meets, and other team events.
- I will refrain from yelling at, demeaning, or disrespecting my child, teammates, opposing swimmers, coaches, fans, or officials.
- I will prioritize my child’s emotional and physical well-being over personal expectations or competition results.
- I will ensure that my child participates in a safe and healthy environment.
- I will support coaches, officials, and team staff in fostering a positive and enjoyable experience for all participants.
- I will contribute to a sports environment that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and will refrain from using these substances at team events.
- I will use respectful language and behavior at all times and will refrain from profanity or inappropriate gestures at team activities.
- I will encourage my child to find joy in swimming and to embrace the experience.
- I will set an example by treating all swimmers, coaches, parents, and officials with respect, regardless of race, gender, creed, or ability.
- I acknowledge that this Code of Conduct applies to all family members and guests I bring to team events, and I am responsible for their behavior.
I understand that failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in being asked to leave a practice or meet by team officials, which include staff, meet officials, and board members. Refusal to comply may lead to my child’s dismissal from the team without reimbursement. Repeated or serious violations may also result in dismissal without reimbursement. I further acknowledge that this Code of Conduct is not exhaustive, and team officials reserve the right to address behaviors deemed inappropriate based on generally accepted standards.
